The University of Iowa's NIGHT RIDE service - a free shuttle that provides students safe transport to and from campus locations and personal residences - is getting an upgrade.
Starting tonight, the service will be replacing their 'NIGHT RIDE Gold bus” with a new van they are calling the TransConnect van.
According to a UI Public Safety release, the new vehicle will allow the service to provide more express rides to students, and includes a new feature that allows riders to see a map of where their vehicle is once their request for service has been accepted and assigned.
The NIGHT RIDE hours of operation remain seven days a week, from 10 p.m. until 5 a.m.
Rides can be requested at this website.
