Cedar Rapids man accused of using firearm in robbery to steal cellphone

A Cedar Rapids man faces a robbery charge after he police say he used a firearm to steal someone's cellphone.
According to a criminal complaint filed in Linn County District Court, Yahyness William Fields made arrangements for someone to buy his cellphone and met with the person at a prearranged location.
Fields then 'displayed a firearm and stole the cellphone,” according to the complaint.
Officers were able to locate fields near where the robbery occurred.
The complaint states officers 'found the defendant in possession of the stolen cellphone and the defendant admitted to the offense, claiming no one else was involved.”
Fields is charged with first-degree robbery, a Class B felony.
