Driver dies in single car accident on Edgewood Rd.
The Cedar Rapids Police Department were dispatched to the block of 4800 Edgewood Rd. SW around 5:13 a.m. today for a single vehicle accident.
According to a release from the department, when officers arrived they located one vehicle that was heavily damaged and an unconscious driver who had sustained serious injuries.
The driver was treated for his injuries at the scene and transported to a hospital where he ultimately died.
Police are not releasing the name of the individual pending notification of family members.
This incident remains an ongoing investigation.
