MARION - One person was injured Wednesday afternoon in a fire when a fire broke out in an upper-level condominium north of downtown Marion.
Firefighters responded at about 1:30 p.m. to the fire near 740 Magnolia Lane - north of Boyson Road and west of 10th Street - where smoke was pouring from the building's upper level, according to the Marion Fire Department.
Fire Chief Debra Krebill said the fire started in one unit and spread into the building's attic.
Most of the damage, she said, was contained to the upper level.
One person was taken to the hospital, Krebill said. The severity of that person's injuries is unknown.
The cause of the fire is being investigated, Krebill said.
