Man arrested in Cedar Rapids after he allegedly stopped paying for car leased from Florida

CEDAR RAPIDS - Police arrested a 29-year-old man over the weekend who was driving a vehicle that was reported stolen in Florida.
Officers stopped a 2019 Toyota Corolla at 1:45 a.m. Monday in the 800 block of 15th Street SE, when a license plate check identified the vehicle as stolen, according to the criminal complaint,
Police said the driver, Justin S. Hercule, had a driver's license out of Florida, but the license was suspended. Police said Enterprise Rent-A-Car reported to the Miami-Dade Police Department that the vehicle had been stolen.
A 19-year old woman also was in the vehicle, police said, but she has not been charged.
According to the criminal complaint, Hercule admitted he had leased the vehicle and then stopped making the payments. The complaint states Hercule was living in the vehicle.
Hercule faces a charge of first-degree theft, a Class C felony.
