2 seriously injured in MINI Cooper crash with dump truck in Cedar Rapids

Two occupants in a MINI Cooper were seriously injured this morning in a crash with a dump truck at First Avenue and 32nd Street East in Cedar Rapids, according to a news release.
Cedar Rapids police, firefighters and ambulance personnel were dispatched at 8:37 a.m. to the intersection, where a man and woman inside the MINI Cooper were seriously injured. The driver of the dump truck was uninjured, the release stated.
The westbound lanes of First Avenue near 32nd Street East will be closed for several hours as CRPD's accident reconstruction specialists investigate the scene, according to the release.
