A Missouri man who sexually exploited a child was sentenced Friday to 30 years in federal prison.
James Jones, 51, of Maysville, pleaded guilty in February to one count of sexual exploitation of a child. During the plea hearing, Jones admitted he persuaded, induced and enticed a 12-year-old Fayette County girl to take photos of her genital area with a cell phone and send the photos to him in 2010.
Jones previously was convicted of taking indecent liberties with a child in North Carolina in 1981, according to court documents.
Jones was also ordered to serve a 10-year term of supervised release after serving his prison time. He must also comply with all sex offender registration and public notification requirements.
This case was investigated by the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the Fayette County Sheriff's Office, and the DeKalb County, Missouri, Sheriff's Office.
