Fire breaks out at northeast Cedar Rapids home

CEDAR RAPIDS - Firefighters are battling a blaze at a northeast Cedar Rapids home this morning.
The fire was reported around 10:30 a.m. at 2206 D Ave. NE. The single-family house is likely a total loss, officials at the scene said.
Police at the scene said one man was in the home at the time of the fire, but was able to get out safely.
Fire crews were pulling items from the home, and the entire block around the home is filled with smoke.
The fire appeared to be focused at the back of the home.
