An Iowa State Patrol trooper suffered what appear to be minor injuries when his squad car was struck while he was investigating a crash on Interstate 80 Friday morning.
Sgt. Sharon Kurt said the trooper, who is not yet being identified, was investigating a crash that had occurred on Interstate 80 near Oxford around 6:40 a.m. The trooper was sitting in his car and set to begin the investigation on the initial crash when his squad car was hit by a pickup truck that had been hit by a semi.
Kurt said the trooper suffered some back pain and went to the doctor to get checked out. She said his injuries were "not serious at all."
No one else was injured in the crash, Kurt said.
