A Cedar Rapids woman was arrested Sunday in connection with a fatal wreck that killed two people on Sept. 29, 2017.
According to the Linn County Sheriff's Office, Brianna E. Stastny, 23, was arrested on a warrant charging her with four counts of vehicular homicide.
Authorities said Stastny was driving south on Hwy. 151 near Wright Brothers Boulevard, and was attempting to pass another vehicle when she allegedly struck northbound vehicle, driven by Darla Moander, head on.
Stastny's vehicle came to rest in the ditch and the northbound vehicle remained on the road, authorities said.
Moander, 43, of Cedar Rapids, was pronounced dead at the scene. The second victim, Kaelonnie Moore, 22, of Cedar Rapids, was a passenger in Stastny's vehicle, officials said. She was also pronounced dead on scene.
Stastny was treated for her injuries at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics.
Stastny is currently being held at Linn County Jail.
