Rain forecast lessens as crest prediction remains the same

Cedar Rapids will see more of the summer sun in the next few days, according to weather predictions from the National Weather Service.
Although a 20 percent chance of showers will continue until Friday, by Saturday the sky will be partly sunny with a high near 71 degrees.
The forecast bounces between sunny, partly sunny and mostly clear until Wednesday, Sept. 12, when it is predicted to be sunny with a high of 80. It seems summer is not over yet.
Despite less rain in the forecast the predicted crest of floodwaters remains at 17 feet, according to the National Weather Service. the river will reach this crest Sunday afternoon.
