Iowa City police report armed robbery at Walgreens

A suspect displayed a handgun before fleeing from a store with an undisclosed amount of money early Saturday morning, according to a media release from the Iowa City Police Department.
At 2:37 a.m. Saturday, police were called to the Walgreens at 2214 Muscatine Ave. in Iowa City for a report of an armed robbery. The suspect fled before police arrived, and according to the release, and was not located after the area was checked.
Police describe the suspect as a white male possibly in his 20s, wearing a gray or black winter coat, blue jeans, and a black hood over his face.
No injuries were sustained by any of the store's employees, according to the release.
Anyone with information related to the armed robbery is asked to call the Iowa City Police Department at 319-356-5275. Iowa City Area CrimeStoppers is offering up to a $1000 cash reward for information leading to the arrest of the suspect.
