Missouri man dies in Wadena after high-speed chase
A Missouri man died Saturday after a high-speed chase resulted in a crash in Wadena.
Jared Hill, 28, of Jefferson City, Mo., led a Fayette County deputy on a pursuit northbound on Mills Street into Wadena at 1:45 a.m. Saturday, according to the Iowa State Patrol. He drove his 2008 Kia Spectra into the oncoming lane and shoulder and struck an unoccupied, legally-parked 2007 Dodge Ram head-on.
Hill, who was not wearing a seatbelt, died from his injuries.
Funeral services are pending with the Jamison-Schmitz Funeral Home in Oelwein.
