Springville woman hospitalized with ‘life-threatening injuries’ after rollover accident on County Home Road

A Springville woman suffered life-threatening injuries after a rollover accident Wednesday on County Home Road.

According to a media release from the Linn County Sheriff's Office, at 5:00 p.m. Wednesday evening emergency responders received word of a single-vehicle accident near the intersection of County Home Road and Jordans Grove Road.

Upon arriving, emergency responders found a vehicle driven by Melissa Davidson, 61, of Springville, that had rolled into the ditch, according to the release. Davidson was transported by a Lifeguard Air Ambulance helicopter to the University of Iowa Hospital for treatment of 'life threatening injuries.”

After investigation, deputies determined that Davidson had been traveling east on County Home Road when she lost control of her vehicle and entered the north ditch just west of Jordans Grove Road, rolling several times as she hit the ditch and the vehicle finally stopping on its side, according to the release.

Police say Davidson was not wearing her seatbelt at the time of the accident.

The incident remains under investigation by the Linn County Sheriff's Office.

Also responding to the scene, according to the release, were Linn County Rescue, the Marion Fire Department, and Area Ambulance.
