Police investigating early Sunday shooting that injured a 17-year-old male

CEDAR RAPIDS - One victim was sent to the hospital after an early morning shooting on Sunday.
Cedar Rapids police responded to an incident at 15th St. and Seventh Ave. SE at around 12:15 a.m. Sunday after receiving a 911 call reporting shots fired, according to a news release.
When they arrived, officers said they found a 17-year-old male suffering from a gunshot wound to the left thigh. Police characterized the wound as non-life threatening and the victim was transported to a local hospital for treatment.
Several shell casings were located at the scene and collected as evidence, police said. Through their investigation, police said they believe the shooting was a 'targeted incident.”
No arrests have been made, police said, and the investigation is ongoing.
