A Cedar Rapids man faces two counts of second-degree robbery, accused of attacking two women while trying to steal their car.
Mitchell Lewis Hauge, 37, is accused of attacking the women after they had parked their vehicle on Ellis Boulevard NW on Thursday.
Police say he grabbed a cane from one of the women and attempted to hit her when she got out of the vehicle. He grabbed the other woman from the driver's seat and threw her to the ground, according to the criminal complaint.
He tried to leave in the car but couldn't find the keys. He then ran away.
The complaint said Hauge was apprehended with the help of witnesses. He is now in the Linn County Jail.
