Gerald A. Holtz, 91, formerly of Cedar Rapids, passed away peacefully at his home in Urbana on
Friday, June 20, 2014. Services: 1 p.m. Monday at St. Jude Catholic Church, by the Rev. Mark Reasoner. Inurnment: Mount Calvary Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family from noon to 1 p.m. Monday at the church. Teahen Funeral Home is serving the family.
Gerald is survived by his wife, Barb; two sons, Gerald "Jerry" (Cindy) of Urbana and Ronald (Christa) of Cedar Rapids; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; two brothers and three sisters.
He was preceded in death by one brother and one sister.
Gerald Ambrose was born May 2, 1923, in Greeley, the son of Thomas Joseph and Matilda Mary Raible Holtz. He married Barbara Diane Broxey on Oct. 16, 1954, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Cedar Rapids.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Unity Point Hospice and all the special caregivers during his illness.
