Marengo
Janet Rose Colson of Olathe, Kan., formerly of Iowa City and Marengo, died Oct. 11, 2013. Per her wishes, her body was cremated. Mass of Christian Burial: 10:30 a.m. Friday, July 11, St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Marengo, with Father Joseph Roost officiating. Inurnment: Calvary Cemetery, Marengo. The family will greet friends and relatives at a dinner at St. Patrick's Parish Hall, following the cemetery service. Kloster Funeral Home, Marengo is assisting with arrangements.
She is survived by her children, Marie Baughman of Colorado Springs, Colo., Mark Brachtenbach (Karen) of Kansas City, Mo., Matthew Brachtenbach of Kansas City, Mo., and Michael Brachtenbach (Stephanie); and three grandchildren, Zachary, Allison and Gabrielle Brachtenbach of Olathe, Kan.
Also surviving are a sister, Marylou Tripolino (Jack) of Waverly; and a brother, John F. Colson (Nancy) of Brookings, S.D.
Janet was preceded in death by her parents, Louis and Frances Colson, who resided in Marengo.
