Giorgi Bezhanishvili, not Jordan Bohannon, named Big Ten Player of the Week

As Steven Wright once said, you can't have everything. Where would you put it?
I declared Iowa's Jordan Bohannon the Big Ten men's basketball Player of the Week Sunday night in my game story about the Hawkeyes' 80-79 comeback win over Northwestern at Carver-Hawkeye Arena.
I was wrong.
It wasn't that Bohannon wasn't deserving. He scored 25 points in Iowa's 77-72 win at Indiana Thursday, including 11 points in the final 91 seconds. That was a nice opening act for what he did Sunday against Northwestern when he ...
Scored 13 points in the final 3:20, and sank a game-winning 3-pointer with 0.6 seconds left as the Hawkeyes rallied from a 72-57 deficit with 4:30 left to beat the Wildcats.
Bohannon's two-game totals were 40 points and nine assists, with 24 of those points coming in the last 3:20 of the two games. But, there are other teams and other players.
Monday, the Big Ten gave its Player of the Week honor to Illinois freshman forward Giorgi Bezhanishvili, who ...
Averaged 25.5 points and 6.0 rebounds while shooting 69.0 percent from the floor in helping the Illini to home wins over Michigan State and Rutgers.
He was 14 of 18 from the floor and scored 35 points in the 99-94 overtime win over Rutgers, breaking Illinois' 29-year-old freshman scoring record. Twenty-nine of those points came after halftime.
He had 16 points in the Illini's 79-74 win over then-No. 11 Michigan State.
If it's any consolation to Iowa fans, Bohannon was named the national player of the week Monday by Rob Dauster of NBCsports.com, calling the pick 'obvious.'
