Iowa's 7-0 start on the road was a mirage, as the Hawkeyes went on to drop their seventh Big Ten road game by double digits, losing 74-59 to No. 21 Michigan at Crisler Center.
It was 37-24 Michigan (21-7, 10-5) at halftime. Iowa (12-16, 3-12) sliced that lead to eight early in the second half, but an 11-4 run, backed by three consecutive Duncan Robinson 3-pointers, effectively put it out of reach.
The Hawkeyes shot 48.1 percent, but turned it over 16 times, including 12 in the first half. Michigan shot just 41.8 percent, but was 12 of 33 from deep and picked up 13 steals.
Robinson tied for the Michigan lead with 18 points on 6-for-8 3-point shooting. Muhammad-Ali Abdur-Rahkman also had 18, plus seven assists, while Moritz Wagner had 14 points and five rebounds.
Luka Garza overcame early turnovers to lead Iowa with 22 points on 10-for-16 shooting, plus six boards. Tyler Cook had 10 points and eight rebounds. Isaiah Moss added 12 points.
