Iowa’s Tyler Cook tweets he has ‘no desire to transfer to Missouri’

Iowa forward Tyler Cook squashed one rumor Friday when he tweeted he will not transfer to Missouri.

'I have no desire to transfer to Missouri,” Cook wrote. 'I have nothing but love and respect for that program and the people there, but going to Mizzou was never the plan. God bless.”

He was noncommittal about his return to Iowa after the Hawkeyes' disappointing season ended Thursday night with a 77-71 overtime loss to Michigan in the Big Ten tournament second round. Rumors about his leaving had included the possibility that he would head to his home state and join the Missouri program.

Cook, a 6-foot-9 sophomore, did not say Friday whether he will be at Iowa next season.

If he were to declare for the NBA Draft, he could still return to Iowa by June 11 if he does not hire an agent.

Cook averaged a team-best 15.3 points and 6.8 rebounds for the 14-19 Hawkeyes this season.

'I can't answer that one right now,” Cook said Thursday when asked if he would finish his college career at Iowa. 'All due respect, but I can't answer that.”

'I've got to take care of my body, take care of my mind, see where we go from there.”
