Iowa’s Isaiah Moss declares for NBA Draft without hiring agent

Iowa redshirt sophomore guard Isaiah Moss has declared for the NBA Draft as an early entry, the school announced Tuesday.

Moss has not hired an agent, meaning he can still return to Iowa by May 30 after receiving feedback.

'My family and I have talked with coach (Fran) McCaffery and we have decided to enter my name into the NBA Draft without hiring an agent,' Moss said in a statement. 'It is a dream of mine to play professional basketball. I look forward to going through the process and I thank the coaching staff for helping me through it. I am excited for the feedback and opportunity to workout for NBA personnel so my family and I can make the best decision for my future. I appreciate the support from my teammates, coaching staff, and Hawkeye fans.'

The 6-foot-5, 205-pound guard averaged 11.1 points on 42-percent shooting, including 38.6 percent from 3-point range last season. He added 2.2 rebounds and 1.9 assists as the Hawkeyes slumped to a 14-19 record.

'This is an opportunity for Isaiah to learn more about himself and his game during this process,' McCaffery said in a statement. 'Going through this process will benefit him in the long term. We fully support Isaiah and we will be there to help him along the way.'

Moss is the second Iowa underclassman to declare for the draft, joining sophomore forward Tyler Cook (15.3 points, 6.8 rebounds), who also has not hired an agent. NBAdraftnet.com does not have either in its most recent mock draft.
