Turning point: Iowa led 37-29 at the break, then virtually put the game away in the first few minutes of the second half. Joe Wieskamp and CJ Fredrick hit 3s and Luka Garza scored six points during a 14-5 run that increased the Hawkeyes' advantage to 51-34 and led to a Gophers timeout with 15:51 to play. The lead never dipped into single digits after Wieskamp's trey 19 seconds into the half.

MVP: Wieskamp scored a season-high 23 points, including 16 in the first half on 4-of-6 3-point shooting. He was 5 of 7 from deep for the game and brought the crowd to its feet with a defense-to-offense sequence in the second half. Wieskamp blocked Tre' Williams' 3-point attempt at the top of the key, gathered the ball and beat the Gophers down the court for a two-handed dunk to put Iowa up 57-45 with 9:20 to play.
