Peggy Lou Seeber, 66, of Cedar Rapids, died at home surrounded by her family on Wednesday, June 18, 2014, after a brief illness. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Monday, June 23, at Zion Lutheran Church in Hiawatha, officiated by the Rev. Daniel Krueger. Interment will take place at 3 p.m. Monday in the Osage Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home and after 9 a.m. Monday at the church.
Surviving family members include her children, Brian J. Seeber of Cedar Rapids, Bradley (Shea) Seeber of Des Moines and Cindy (Jon) Young of Marion; five grandchildren, Brianna and Dylan Young and Madeline, Isabel and Aidan Seeber; mother, Thelma Kusel of Keystone; brother, Scott Kusel of Keystone; and sisters, Beverly Brumbaugh of LaPorte City and Kathy (Kevin) Ebert of Cedar Rapids.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James W. Seeber, in 2000; father, Loren Kusel; nephew, Stacey Kusel; and brother-in-law, Philip Brumbaugh.
Peggy was born May 28, 1948, in Belle Plaine, Iowa, to Loren and Thelma Bruger Kusel. She was united in marriage to James Wesley Seeber on April 4, 1970, in Keystone.
She was employed at Little Lambs Christian Preschool in Hiawatha for 30 years and had been the director for the past 15 years.
Her greatest pleasures were spending time with her family and friends, playing with her grandchildren and sharing God's love through her dedicated service to Little Lambs Christian Preschool. She touched the lives of many young children and will be greatly missed.
A memorial has been established in Peggy's name.
