The life of Chantele Marie Ladd-Crowley, 39, of Cedar Rapids, was taken suddenly and tragically through an act of senseless violence on June 30, 2014. Funeral services will take place at 4 p.m. Monday, July 7, at Lemke
Funeral Homes – South Chapel (west side of Clinton Lawn Cemetery) in Clinton. A visitation will be from 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday, July 6, at Neighborhood Church, 701 25th St. NE, Cedar Rapids (319-389-2165). A visitation in Clinton is scheduled three hours before the funeral service from 1 to 4 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Cremation rites will be accorded following the funeral service, with burial at a later date in Clinton Lawn Cemetery. Lemke Funeral Homes, Clinton, is assisting the family with arrangements.
Chantele was born Sept. 8, 1974, in Clinton, Iowa, the loving daughter of Susan Ladd. Chantele worked in customer service for 10 years at Toyota. She also worked in the Amana Colonies at Amana Refrigeration as a production specialist.
Following her grandparents' footsteps, Chantele was an avid and skilled pool player. She also was very outgoing and enjoyed driving motorcycles. Chantele always had a big heart for those in need or less fortunate. She was especially fond of all animals. Above all she loved her son, Cody, and daughter in-law Makayla very much.
We are all so blessed that during her short time on Earth she touched so many lives and will be forever missed by all those who knew her.
Chantele is survived by her parents, Susan Gallagher of Des Moines, Michael Gallagher of New Sharon and Terry Turner of Clinton; one son, Cody (Makayla) Allison of Lakewood, Wash.; two sisters, Amy Ricard of Des Moines and Christy Shannon of Des Moines; one half sister, Erin Turner; one half brother, Casey (Emily) Turner; two stepbrothers, J.D. (Tina) Halberg and Charles J. Halberg; one aunt, Mary Covert of Chicago; two uncles, Gary Ladd of Ina, Ill., and Larry Ladd of Clinton; two nieces and four nephews.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents.
In lieu of flowers, memorials made will be directed to the wishes of the family.
