Margaret E. Davis, 87, of Parnell, died Friday, July 4, 2014, at Pleasantview Care Center in Kalona. Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday, July 8, at Gay & Ciha Funeral and Cremation Service in Iowa City, with burial to follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery. There will be a time of visitation one hour before the services and following the cemetery services during the reception at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given in her memory to Iowa City Hospice or Pleasant-view Home in Kalona.

Margaret Etta Gritton was born Dec. 11, 1926, in Tipton, Iowa, the daughter of Walter and Leona (Voss) Gritton. She was united in marriage to Billy L. Davis on Jan. 29, 1946, in Iowa City.
Her family includes her husband, Billy; their children, Kelly Wieland (Rob) of Eagle Point, Ore., William Davis (Kathy) of Tipton and Denise Davis (Carol Fox) of Iowa City; three grandsons, Brett Miller (Michelle) of Alexandria, Minn., Jason Davis (Sa-mantha) of Iowa City and Bryan Davis (Jenna) of North Liberty; great-grandchildren, Megan Miller, Shawn Miller, Alana Davis, Alison Davis, Katelyn Davis and Liam Davis; Margaret's brother-in-law, Larry Kruger of Harpers Ferry; and nieces, great-nieces and many cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Sherry Etta Davis; and her sister, Phyllis Kruger.
Margaret's family wishes to express their most sincere appreciation to the staff of Pleasantview Home and Iowa City Hospice for its loving care of our wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Thank you!
