Gary Lynn Thomson, 60, of Ridgedale, Mo., ended his 19-year battle with kidney disease on Sept. 1, 2014, at St. Luke's Hospital in Kansas City, Mo.
He was born on March 20, 1954, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, the son of Murl and Marie "Jo" Tiedemann Thomson. He had been a resident of the area for many years and was an electrical engineer before his illness. He was of the Protestant faith.
He is survived by the pride and joy of his life, loving son, Zachariah Thomson of Hollister, Mo.; his mother, "Jo" Thomson of Branson, Mo.; two brothers, John and Robert Thomson, both of Springfield, Mo.; a sister, Jo Ann Stoner of Mount Vernon; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his father, Murl Thomson.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 13, at Greenlawn Funeral Home in Branson, Mo. A visitation will be held one hour before the service.
