Roger "Opie" McCraney, 51, of Cedar Rapids, formerly of Waterloo, died Friday, July 25, 2014, at
University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, Iowa City. Celebration of Life will be 4 p.m. Aug. 2 at 2328 Blakely Blvd. SE, Cedar Rapids. Burial is private.
Survivors include his wife, Becky Boots; children, Ashley (Fred) McCraney, Josh (Tyler) Russell and Jake McCraney; brothers, Tony (Renee), Pat, Mike, Randy and John; sisters, Jo (Ross) Antrim, Barb (Bob) Sero and Angie; two stepsons, TJ and Dustin; two grandsons, Devin and Zander; four granddaughters, Kaelyn, Makenna, Hannah and Krisom; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Gerry and Bud McCraney; his sister, Carole Sparks; and daughter, Jessica.
Roger enjoyed fishing, playing drums, singing karaoke and spending time with family and friends. He loved the Minnesota Vikings and was an Iowa Hawkeye fan.
