Glenn O. Schirm, 93, a resident of Keystone Care Center in Keystone, died there Thursday, Aug. 21,
2014, after a long illness. Per Glenn's request there will be no public service or visitation. Burial: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery, Cedar Rapids. Cedar Me-morial Funeral Home in Cedar Rapids is in charge of arrangements.
Survivors include two daughters, Kathryn (Stan) Davis of Huntington Beach, Calif., and Diane (Pete) Herson of Sachse, Texas; a son, Leslie (Lori) of Rockford, Ill.; and three grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife; a son, Dennis; and a sister.
Glenn was born Sept. 10, 1920, in Newhall, the son of Otto and Marie Ernst Schirm. He married Marion L. Wehrhan on April 9, 1944, in Newhall. Marion passed away in 1995. Glenn worked at Wilson & Co. for several years and also was a farmer and owner and operator of a motel/cafe in Ladora and Newhall.
Glenn enjoyed playing softball in his younger years, woodworking and especially time spent with his beloved family and many friends.
He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to the American Cancer Society.
