Harold "Harry" Rockzien, 85, died Tuesday, July 1, 2014, at St Luke's Hospital, Cedar Rapids. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, July 7, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Anamosa. Interment: Holy Cross Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday, July 6, at Goettsch Funeral Home, Anamosa, where a parish vigil service will be at 1:30 p.m.

Harold Richard Rockzien was born Nov. 15, 1928, to Ralph and Mary (Bailey) Rockzien in Charles City, Iowa. Harry married Kathleen "Katie" Manternach on Feb. 10, 1955, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Cascade. Harry was a dairy and crop farmer for many years and later worked for Bard Concrete in Monticello until retirement.
Harry was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandpa.
Harry is survived by Katie, his wife of 59 years; their daughters, Mary Jo (Steve) Yotty of Kalona, Julie (Randy) Kruse of Stanwood, Cathy (Dean) Boesenberg of Stanwood and Jan (Rich) Glenn of Olin; grandchildren, Drew (Katie) Glenn, Rhonda Boesenberg (Jason Hayes), Kayla Glenn (AJ Schroeder), Nicole Boesenberg and Jordon Yotty; and one great-grandson, Jaxen Glenn. He also is survived by brothers- and sisters-in-law, Clarence Quint, Veronica Welter, Larry and Lois Manternach, Joe and JoAnn Manternach, Ralph and Rita Manternach, Loras and Donna Manternach, Joan and Tom Hoffman, Ronald and Bridget Manternach, Muriel and Duane Schlemme, Lois and Alan Gravel and Lester and Mary Ellen Manternach; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his infant sister, Ethel; his stepmother, Grace Cahill; brothers- and sisters-in-law, Florence and Harry Schockemoehl, Eleanor Quint, Herman Welter, Alvina and Robert Greif, Mae and Elmer Klocke and Sister Leona Manternach OSF.
He was a friendly and hard-working man, with a great sense of humor and a smile on his face. His family will forever remember his fun-loving teasing and silly jokes.
