TODD ROSAUER
Cedar Rapids
On Jan. 30, 2014, cancer took yet another wonderful person from this earth. Todd J. Rosauer, 48, of Cedar Rapids, was an amazing person who loved everything and everyone in his life, and touched so very many in everything he did.
The family will greet friends Sunday from 1 to 4 p.m. at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Cedar Rapids. A Celebration of Life will be 11 a.m. Monday, Feb. 3, at Gloria Dei
Lutheran Church, 153
Cherry Hill Rd. NW, Cedar Rapids. Private family
burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery, Cedar Rapids.
Survivors include his wife, Jan; children, Matthew and Kristen; mother, Carol Diamond of Lansing; siblings, Mike (Susan) and families of Walker, Kevin (Deb) and family of Rowley, Alan (Holly) and family of Brandon, Sandra (Rich) Jackson and family of Salem, Mass., Tim (Dianne) and family of Cherry Valley, Calif., Kelly (April) and family of Lomita, Calif., and Pam (Jamie) Carlson and family of Circle Pines, Minn.; mother-in-law, June Stock; sister-in-law, Lauri (Harry) Graham and their children, Hayley and Logan; and many aunts and uncles.
He touched the lives of many scouters, archers, co-workers and the school communities at Truman, Taft and Jefferson.
He was preceded in death by his father,
Richard Rosauer, and grandparents.
Todd was born in New Hampton, Iowa, on March 29, 1965. He graduated from Urbana High School in 1984. He earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in fine art from Mount Mercy University, where his favorite class was pottery.
Todd married Jan Stock on Nov. 7, 1998, at St. James United Methodist Church. They left the church in a hot air balloon during a light snow fall and landed near Edgewood Road, complete with emergency vehicles and television stations present.
Todd spent many hours hunting, fishing, shooting archery, gardening and hot air ballooning. He was the greatest baker ever – awesome pies, cookies, bread and treats for everyone he knew. Todd was active in Boy Scouts and always had time to teach someone something new. His knowledge was vast and he never hesitated to share with others. Much of this knowledge was gained through his love of reading.
Todd worked in the cafeteria at Jefferson High School. He loved being around the kids and was content to sit and prepare fresh fruits, veggies and proteins. Todd found this job after having the ultimate job of being a stay-at-home dad for Matthew and Kristen before they started school. He enjoyed scouting with Matthew and gardening and baking with Kristen.
A special thanks to his amazing medical team – providing 10 months to
continue making memories with all of those he loved and those who loved him.
Instead of flowers, the family requests memorials to the Rosauer Children's College Fund or Gloria Dei Lutheran Church to be used for a memorial garden for Matthew's Eagle project.
