Lowden
Leroy F. Martens, 77, died Sunday, Feb. 23, 2014, at the Clarence Nursing Home. Services: 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 27, at Trinity Lutheran Church, Lowden, with the Rev. Victor Young officiating. Burial: Trinity Lutheran Cemetery, Lowden. Friends may call one hour before the service Thursday at the church. Chapman Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
Survivors include his sister, Alberta of Lowden.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Leroy was born Nov. 22, 1936, to Albert and Frieda Kroemer Martens. As an adult, Leroy was a teacher and also a farmer. He was active in men's and mixed choir at Trinity Lutheran Church in Lowden, the Lutheran Laymen's League and held various offices at the church.
