Kahler, Ralph Lewis
Ralph Lewis Kahler, 77, of Alamo, Texas, formerly of Cedar Rapids, died Sunday, Aug. 18, 2013, at his home in Middle Amana. Memorial Services: 11 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 22, St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Luzerne, Iowa, with the Rev. Michael Musick officiating. Inurnment will be in Memory Gardens, Iowa City, at a later date. The family will receive friends at the church, one hour before the service Thursday at the church.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established.
Kloster Funeral Home, Marengo, is in charge of arrangements.
Ralph is survived by his wife, Yvonne; two children, Randy Kahler and wife Julie of St. Joseph, Mo. and Laurie Dvorak and husband Craig of Belvidere, Ill.; four grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Also surviving are his siblings, Alice Von Ahsen (Ivan) of Shellsburg, Kay Comried (Ray) of Marion, Jean Gallagher (Pat) of Cedar Rapids and Ronnie Kahler (Linda) of Monticello; and Gerry Kahler Herr (Lee) of Amana, who he loved like a sister.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Harry and Josephine Landuyt Kahler; a brother, Russell; and a sister, Eleanor Ealy.
