Toby Rose Fisch, 81, of Marion, died Thursday, Feb. 27, 2014, at Mercy Medical Center, Cedar Rapids. Funeral Service: 2:30 p.m. Saturday, March 1, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Marion. Burial will
take place at West Point Cemetery, New York, at a later date.
Survivors include her children, Barbara (Bob) Wiltgen and Dave Fisch; and grandchildren, Cullen and Callie Fisch, Hannah and Ryan Glanz, Brittney (Jason) Greer, Kristi (Kevin) Brown and Sara Wiltgen. Toby was also happy to be expecting the birth of her first great-granddaughter in July to
Brittney and Jason.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Irving and Naomi Lehrfeld; brother, Bill Lehrfeld; and son-in-law, Rick Glanz.
Toby was born Feb. 17, 1933, in Fort Totten, N.Y., the daughter of Irving and Naomi (Glazer) Lehrfeld. She married Donald Fisch in 1958. Toby attended Berkeley University and worked in administrative support. Most recently, she worked in lien research for CBMS.
Toby enjoyed playing tennis and bridge and loved to travel. She especially loved her 3-year military tour in Oahu, Hawaii.
Toby will always be remembered by her family and friends as a true patriot, steeped in military tradition and a passionate, overly-generous person of great dignity and unwavering integrity.
She will be missed and forever loved by the many lives she has touched.
