Thelma Blanche Dubisher Reynolds, 91, died at her home Thursday, Feb. 6, 2014, following a brief illness. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 12, at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Iowa City, with Father Gary Beckman officiating. Burial will follow at St. Joseph's Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday from 4 to 7 p.m. at Lensing Funeral & Cremation Service, Iowa City, where the Catholic Daughters will recite a rosary beginning at
4 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to St. Wenceslaus Church or the American Cancer Society.
Thelma was born March 31, 1922, in Marengo, Iowa, the daughter of Louis and Mayme Carney Dubisher. In 1924, the family moved to Iowa City, where Thelma married Henry Reynolds on Feb. 15, 1945, at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church. Thelma was employed for many years by the City of Iowa City as a crossing guard.
She was a member of St. Wenceslaus
Catholic Church, the
Altar and
Rosary Society and was a past regent of the Catholic Daughters of America.
Thelma is survived by her two children, Terry (Chris) Reynolds and LuAnn Reynolds (Dave
Parsons), both of Iowa City; and her grandchildren, Amanda Reynolds of Oskaloosa and Ty Reynolds (Sheila Buccola) of Dixon, Ill.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Henry; and two siblings, Kathryn Brandt and Edward Dubisher.
