Austin, Eva
Eva Austin, 93, of Cedar Rapids, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 14, 2012, at Living Center East, Cedar Rapids. Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 18, at Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories. Supt. Jerald Woods will officiate, with burial in Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may call one hour before the service on Saturday at the chapel.
Lorene Eva Stewart was born April 7, 1918, in Lawrence, Kan., the daughter of Hurbert Lorn and Rhoda Gladys (Weaver) Stewart.
Eva is survived by her children, Jeanetta Austin of Cedar Rapids, Loraletta Woolery of Arizona, Viola (Earl) Harrison of Cedar Rapids, Violet (Robert) Hobbs of Des Moines and Ronald Austin of Cedar Rapids; 12 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and her sisters, May Lee and Mattie Ellen Stuart, both of Harrisonville, Mo.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Hurbert and Rhoda Stewart; infant son, James Jr.; and a brother, Loren David Stewart.
The Austin family would like to give a special thank you to Hospice of Mercy and the nurses and aides at Living Center East.
