Kennedy Jr., Raymond Francis
Raymond Francis Kennedy Jr., 88, of McAllen, Texas, died Sunday, April 22, 2012, in McAllen. Graveside Services, with military honors, will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 28, at St. Joseph Cemetery in the old section off North Summit Street. Visitation will be Friday from 4 to 8 p.m. at Lensing Funeral & Cremation Service, Iowa City.
Ray was born Nov. 2, 1923, in Oxford, Iowa, the son of Raymond Sr. and Electa (O'Brien) Kennedy. He attended St. Mary's School in Iowa City and served his country during World War II. He was a survivor of Pearl Harbor. Ray married Beulah Pues in Cedar Rapids. They moved to Arkansas in 1974 and later to McAllen.
Ray is survived by his wife, Beulah of McAllen, Texas; their two sons, Steve of Denver, Colo., and Terry of McAllen; one granddaughter, Stephanie of Denver; three grandsons, Ted, Jeremy and Daniel; and one sister, Betty (Ray) Stratton of Oxford.
Ray was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Eleanor.
