Wegmann, Rosella E.
Rosella E. Wegmann, 93, of Petersburg, died Tuesday, Dec. 6, 2011, at Oak Crest Manor, Dyersville. Friends may call from 1 to 8 p.m. Friday at Kramer Funeral Home in Dyersville, where a parish Scripture service will be held at 5 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 10, at St. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, Petersburg, with burial in the church cemetery. The Rev. John O'Connor will officiate, with the Rev. Harry Koelker concelebrating.
Rosella was born Sept. 26, 1918, the daughter of Herman and Elizabeth (Geistkemper) Westhoff. She married Frank A. Wegmann on Nov. 16, 1938, in Petersburg. Together they farmed near Petersburg until retiring to town in 1978. She was a strong and caring mother and grandmother.
Survivors include her children, James (Carol) of Petersburg, Lois Lammers of Manchester, Leo (friend Doris Deutmeyer) of Delhi, Joyce (John) Deutmeyer of Worthington, Gerald (Jane) of Cedar Rapids, Joan (Pat) Toohey of St. Paul, Minn., Ronald (Norma) of Petersburg, Rose Ann (Lee) Koelker of Cedar Rapids, Leroy (Margie) of Marion and Carl (Sandra) of Edgewood; 35 grandchildren; 69 great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandchild; and a sister-in-law, Catherine Westhoff of Dyersville.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Frank, in 1983; son, Daniel; a son-in-law, Richard Lammers; a daughter-in-law, Karen Wegmann; a great-grandson, Taylor Lee; and siblings, Monica Steffensmeier, Marie Wilhelm, Josephine Westhoff, Delores Lahr Manternach, Leona Koelker, Frances Besler, and Edmund, Lawrence, Aloysius, Hubert, William, Ambrose, Leo and Roland Westhoff.
Memorials are preferred.
