Morrison, Joshua
Memorial services for Joshua Morrison, 37, of Ames, Iowa, will be held at 3:30 p.m. Saturday, April 14, at the Clinton County Fairgrounds Auditorium, 328 E. Eighth St., DeWitt, Iowa. Joshua died in his sleep at his home in Ames on March 23, 2012.
He was born Jan. 23, 1975, in Colorado Springs, Colo. He graduated from Marshalltown High School in 1993. Joshua received his Associates of Science Degree in Information Technology from Amarillo College, graduating with honors. He was pursuing a degree in Engineering from Iowa State University. In addition, he also received multiple certifications in Systems Administration. Joshua was a systems analyst and private consultant at the time of his death.
In 1997, Joshua met Amber, the woman who would become the love of his life. They were married in Texas on Sept. 7, 2002. Joshua was an avid outdoorsman, who loved being with his wife, Amber and his dogs, camping, canoeing, hiking or just being in nature itself. Although not profoundly religious, Joshua was a very loving and spiritual person with a deep respect for nature and animals. This was evident in his empathy and compassion for family, friends, animals and strangers in need.
Joshua is survived by his beloved wife, Amber; his mother, Linda (McDaniel) Morrison of DeWitt; his father, Carl (Cheryl) Morrison of Fresno, Calif.; brothers, Nathan Morrison of DeWitt, Isaac Horton of San Luis Obispo, Calif., and Phillip Horton of Sacramento, Calif.; grandmothers, Beulah McDaniel of Clarence, and Marie Morrison of Cedar Rapids; and many aunts, uncles, cousins and lifelong friends.
