Moore, Terry Orrin
Terry Orrin Moore, 70, of Marion, formerly of Toddville, died Saturday, May 26, 2012, at his home. Family will greet friends from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, May 29, at Murdoch Funeral Home and Cremation Center, Marion. Terry's brother-in-law, James Freet, will lead a time of sharing beginning at 7 p.m. Tuesday evening, with military honors by American Legion Post #298 of Marion to follow.
Survivors include his wife of 42 years, Bonnie; two sons, Chris (Karen) Moore and Garth Moore, all of Marion; two granddaughters, Lydia and Elise Moore; sister, Blossom (Bill) Baumgartner of Fairfax; brothers, Kevin Moore of Careywood, Idaho, and Denis (Judy) Moore of Oolteway, Tenn.; and sister-in-law, Merna Moore of Marion.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Tom Jr. and Darrlle.
Terry was born Feb. 18, 1942, in Dubuque, Iowa, the son of Thomas (Sr.) and Veda (Stoneking) Moore. He attended Toddville and Alburnett schools. Terry was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, having served during the Vietnam War. He married Bonita A. Bornong on Aug. 16, 1969, at St. Matthew's Catholic Church in Cedar Rapids. Terry worked for many years at King's Food Host, The Spring House Family Restaurant, Collins Radio, Iowa Electric and AEGON. Following his retirement, Terry enjoyed traveling, reading and spending time with his family and friends, especially his two granddaughters.
A memorial fund has been established in Terry's memory.
