Fare, Ronald W.
Ronald W. Fare, 51, of Central City, passed away Monday, Aug. 3, 2009, in Mercy Medical Center, Cedar Rapids. Celebration of Life: Monday, Aug. 10, at the bingo hall at Hawkeye Downs with a potluck starting at 6 p.m. If you have photos or something you would like to share, please bring them with you. Arrangements by Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids.
Survivors include his three daughters, Amber (Michael) Felske, Elizabeth Fare and Kristina (Josh) Detling; grandsons, Lane, Tayton, Bradley and Zak; and a large extended family and friends.
Ron was preceded in death by his wife, June; and his parents, John and Judy Fare.
Ron was born Feb. 17, 1958. He loved racing and raced for years at local tracks and had raced at most of the tracks in Iowa. Hawkeye Downs was his favorite as he grew up living on the fair grounds. Ron promoted Saturday night races in 2002 and 2003. Other loves were bingo and gambling.
