Randolph Sr., Dr. Aaron Peter
Dr. Aaron Peter Randolph Sr. died Monday, Aug. 31, 2009, at the Anamosa Care Center.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Anamosa. Father Wayne Droessler will officiate at the service. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Goettsch Funeral Home in Anamosa. Scripture service will be held 8 p.m. Tuesday night at the funeral home. Internment will be at the Holy Cross Cemetery in Anamosa.

Surviving is his wife Margaret; his children, Mike (Lisa) of Anamosa, Mary (Cliff) Carter of Williamsburg, Phyllis Randolph of Williamsburg, Aaron Jr. (Jean) of Marion, Julie (William) Briggs of Eldridge, Tom of Waterloo, Robert of Anamosa, John (Valerie) of Muscatine and Suzanne (Michael) Heidgerken of North Liberty; three sisters, Nancy Ehrsam of Davenport, Elma (Frances) Costello of Long Grove and Myra Kreiter of Davenport; a brother, Lewis; a sister-in-law, Joanne Randolph of Mechanicsville; a brother-in-law, Bill Jacobs of Davenport; 13 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; he was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters, Madeline Foley, Margaret Silverio and Dolores Jacobs; a brother, Jeptha Randolph Sr. and two grandchildren, Jason and Justin Randolph.
Aaron Peter Randolph Sr. was born Nov. 28, 1922, in Princeton. He was the son of Victor and Agnes Hirl Randolph. He was a 1940 graduate of LeClaire High School. He served in the United States Army in Europe for three years and worked at Rock Island Arsenal for two years. Aaron Randolph Sr. and Margaret Mally were united in marriage on Sept. 1, 1951, at Holy Family Church in Davenport. Dr. Randolph attended St. Ambrose College from 1946 to 1950, then the Iowa Medical School from 1950 to 1954. He did his Internship at Broadlawns Hospital in Des Moines. He worked at the medical practice in Anamosa for 34 years from 1956 to 1989. He delivered more than 1,500 babies. Dr. Randolph enjoyed raising peach trees, the Anamosa pumpkin fest, was a member of the Anamosa Rotary Club, Knights of Columbus and St. Patrick's Catholic Church since 1956. He will be missed dearly by his family and those closest to him.
