Rask, Caroline M.
Caroline M. Rask, 66, of 901 12th St. NE, Cedar Rapids, died Saturday, Aug. 1, 2009, in St. Luke's Hospital, Cedar Rapids. Services:
11 a.m. Tuesday at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids, by the Rev. Darran Whiting. Visitation: 4 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Survivors include her children, Caroline (Mel) Vollbrecht, Geraldine (Del) Anders, Eddie Rask, Angela (Mike) Rask and Timothy Rask; 11 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; sisters, Elaine (Gary) Ross, Connie (Carl) Thurn and Tamara Stone; brother, Burdette (Chin) Stone Jr.; and brother-in-law, Les Meyer.
Caroline was preceded in death by her parents; son, Edwin Rask Jr.; and sister, Leona Meyer.
Born March 25, 1943, in Iowa City, Iowa, Caroline was the daughter of Burdette and Helen (Appleby) Stone Sr. On Jan. 20, 1962, she was united in marriage to Edwin Rask in Manchester. She worked for the Salvation Army for over 10 years.
Caroline's joys were spending times with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved Elvis, collecting pigs and bingo.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established.
