Reigel, Audrey A.
Audrey A. Reigel, 91, passed away at Cottage Grove Place on Friday, Oct. 2, 2009, from a sudden illness.
She is survived by her daughter, Carol Cassells (Thomas) of Cedar Rapids; two grandsons, Colin Cassells of Houston, Texas and Shaun Cassells of Cedar Rapids; and a brother, James Andersen of Pennsylvania.
Audrey was preceded in death by her husband, Jerome; her parents, Carolyn and James Andersen; and her sister, Miriam Bond.
Audrey was born July 15, 1918, in Jersey City, N.J., graduated from Lyons Township High School in LaGrange, Ill., and attended the New York School of Interior Design. She married Jerome Reigel on Aug. 23, 1941. Before moving to Cedar Rapids, she lived in Hinsdale, Ill., for 34 years and Hendersonville, N.C., for 22 years. She worked as an interior designer for many years and was a talented artist.
She will be remembered as a loving daughter, sister, aunt, mother, grandmother, and dear friend.
The family will have a private service at Cedar Memorial, officiated by the Rev. Gillespie of St. Paul's United Methodist Church.
