Robert “Bob” Merle Holland Jr., born Dec. 31,1952, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, died Nov. 22, 2009, in his home following an extended illness. A celebration of his life will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 1, at First Church of the Open Bible, 1911 E Ave. NW, with memorial service at 7 p.m.
Surviving are a son, Jason Holland (Roxy Goad) of Cedar Rapids; sisters, Sheila Holland (Daniel Schmidt) of Cedar Rapids, Theresa Barnes (husband Bill) of Cedar Rapids and Jean Daugherty of Hiawatha; father, Robert M. Holland Sr. and wife Esther; two grandchildren, Levi Michael Durkee of Vinton and Jayla Rae Holland of Cedar Rapids; and many beloved nieces and nephews.
Robert was preceded in death by his wife, Janis J. Holland; and his mother, Shirley A. Shifflett.
He loved life and will be dearly missed by his family and friends.
