Schmidt, Shirley Ann
Shirley Ann Schmidt, 57, of Iowa City, formerly of Middle Amana, died Tuesday evening, Sept. 29, 2009. at her home following a brief illness. Funeral services: 10 a.m. Friday at Middle Amana Community Church, with Elder Emilie Hoppe officiating. Burial will be in Middle Amana Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. today at the Middle Amana Community Church. Kloster Funeral Home in Marengo is in charge of arrangements.
A memorial fund has been established.
Shirley is survived by her brother, Ranier Schmidt and wife Georgia of Cedar Rapids; a niece; and two nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Shirley Ann Schmidt was born June 8, 1952, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, the daughter of Kurt and Christa Erich Schmidt. She attended the Amana and Marengo schools and went on to graduate from the Williamsburg Schools. Shirley participated in the Reach for Your Potential program in Iowa City. She was a member of the Amana Community Church.
