Nancy Lee (Vlasek) Krotz, 70, of Cedar Rapids, died Tuesday, April 1, 2014, at the Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy, Hiawatha. Funeral Mass: 10 a.m. Saturday, April 5, at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church, Cedar Rapids, by the Rev. Christopher Podhajksy. Visitation: 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at Stewart Baxter Funeral & Memorial Services, Cedar Rapids, with a rosary at 4 p.m. Burial: St. John's Cemetery, Cedar Rapids.
Survivors include her husband, Marvin; son, Jeff (Amy) Krotz of Homestead; daughters, Jennifer (Dan) Kucera and Jodie (Craig) Charipar, both of Cedar Rapids; brother, James (Karen) Vlasek of Ely; four grandsons, Jordan, Adam, Joey and Nicholas; and a grand-dog, Karla.
Nancy was born Feb. 5, 1944, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, the daughter of Ernest and Anna (Bevill) Vlasek. On May 25, 1963, Nancy married Marvin Krotz in Cedar Rapids. Nancy was retired from Square D and enjoyed being part of the VFW Auxiliary, Moose Lodge, P3 Retirees and the Sandy Beach Camping Club.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and mother-in-law and father-in-law.
Memorials may be directed to the family or the Anna Purna Ghosh Foun-dation.
The family extends a sincere thank you to Dr. Thomas Schroeder at MercyCare, Dr. Chirantan Ghosh at The Ghosh Center, Dr. Kevin Murray at Hall Radiation and the nurses and staff at the Oldorf Hospice House for their care and compassion. Also a special thank you to Karen Vlasek, Nancy's Square D family, and her close friends for their unconditional love and support during her illness.
