Tripp, Steve Earl
Steve Earl Tripp, 52, of Strawberry Point, died Monday, April 19, 2010. Memorial services: 10:30 a.m. Saturday, April 24, at Leonard-Muller Funeral Home in Strawberry Point. Pastor Jason Cooper will officiate. Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
He was born in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, the son of Earl and Rose (Holthaus) Tripp. Steve spent most of his childhood in Cedar Rapids, moving to Strawberry Point, where he was a 1975 Starmont graduate. Following his graduation he was employed by farm chemical companies: Terra Chemical Co. as operations manager in Manchester until 1999 when he went to work for Helena Chemical in Manchester as warehouse manager for the next 10 years. Steve most recently worked as warehouse operations manager for Crop Production Services in Winthrop. Steve was united in marriage to Alicia “Lisa” Seedorff on July 23, 1988, but they have been a couple for 35 years.
Steve loved to golf and was an avid Chicago Bears fan.
Survivors include his wife, Alicia “Lisa” Seedorff-Tripp of Strawberry Point; one daughter, Tasha Seedorff of Marion; his mother, Rose Hammond of Manchester; one grandchild, Holdyn; three sisters, Nancy Hamblin of Hazleton, Karla Kelley of Wichita, Kan., and Mary (Bill) Bunting of Edgewood; and his dog, Skittles.
Steve was preceded in death by his father, Earl Tripp.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Cedar Bend Humane Society in Waterloo.
