Petrick, Kimberly

Our heavenly Father chose to take Kimberly Petrick, at the young age of 49, on Thursday, Sept. 9, 2010, following a brief illness. She has been cremated. Memorial services: 2 p.m. Monday, Sept. 13, at Stewart Baxter Funeral & Memorial Services, 1844 First Ave. NE, Cedar Rapids.

Kim was born Sept. 6, 1961, in Keokuk, Iowa, the daughter of Jon and Geraldine (Curtis) Sackfield. She was a very loving mother to her two children and aunt to her niece and nephews. Kim has always picked her own nicknames for each of them which they will always remember. She loved physical labor and was a hard worker. Kim will be greatly missed by all. We believe she is in a better place.

She is survived by her mother, Geraldine Sackfield; daughter, Cherish (Justin Summers) Petrick; son, Quary (Rochelle) Petrick; previous husband, Gary Petrick, and his daughter, Christy; brother, John “Bud” (Lori) Sackfield; and sisters, Vicki Jackson, all of Cedar Rapids, and Tairi (Mike Ette) Sackfield of Brainerd, Minn.; two grandchildren, Braiden and Rylee Petrick; nephews, John, Randy and Danny Sackfield; and niece, Emily Jackson, all of Cedar Rapids; aunts, uncles, cousins, and numerous friends.

She was preceded in death by her father, Jon Sackfield.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established.
