Teresa Mae Kuhn, 54, of Vinton, died Tuesday, Oct. 14, 2014, at her home surrounded by her loving family and dogs, Ole and Leena. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Oct. 17, at Phillips Funeral Home Chapel, 212 E. Sixth St., Vinton, with the Rev. Jessica Crane-Munoz officiating. There will be no public committal service. Visitation will from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, also at the funeral home.

A memorial fund has been established.

Teresa was born May 28, 1960, at San Diego, Calif., to Walter and Mary Ann (Culver) Pennington. She was united in marriage to Merle Kuhn on Nov. 28, 1993, at their residence in rural Vinton.

Teresa received her asociate's degree in business from Kirkwood Community College in 2013. She had been employed by Toyota Financial, prior to her death.

In her leisure, she enjoyed playing granny basketball and pool league. Teresa most of all enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband, Merle of rural Vinton; her mother-in-law, Ruby Kuhn of Aitkin, Minn.; her daughters, Kellie (Todd) Van Ree of Vinton and Amanda (Gary) Hamor of Oelwein; her sons, Larry (Donella) Kuhn of Vinton, Mitch (Jen) Kuhn of Urbana, Jimmy (Nichole) Kuhn of Vinton and Brian (Jill) Kuhn of Urbana; her six grandchildren, Lexi Van Ree, Cody Johnson and Autumn, Elisabeth, Leah and Kaitlyn Kuhn; her two brothers, Dale Pennington of Omaha, Neb., and Gary Pennington of Arizona; her two brothers-in-law, Norman (Shirley) Kuhn and Raymond Kuhn, all of Minnesota; and her sister-in-law, Judy (Jerry) Ryan, also of Minnesota.

In addition to her parents, Teresa was preceded in death by her two brothers, Mike and Richard Pennington.
